Position Summary
The Workforce Scheduler carries out workforce planning and logistics for specialised crew within Marine Operations. Follows operational guidelines and directives from Marine Operations and department leadership.
This role will suit someone with a background in workforce scheduling, planning, human resources, recruiting, or shipboard crew administration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Schedules prioritised crew assignments and rotation planning for the Marine department
2. Provides information supporting an effective par level planning process and related procedures
3. Design and implement optimised solutions for fleet needs pertaining to the Marine cost center
4. Ensures effective communication with Marine operations, department leadership, fellow team members, and crew members in areas related to scheduling, succession planning, recruitment, and logistics as appropriate
5. Complies with applicable rules and regulations including but not limited to SQM, flag state and port state legislation, collective bargaining agreements and company policies in all aspects relating to workforce planning
6. Provides complete and accurate employee data in the Human Resources system for assigned departments and/or positions including performance data for succession planning
7. Performs related duties as assigned. Performs other duties as required
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
8. Experience in one or more of the following functions workforce scheduling, planning, recruiting, or shipboard crew administration
9. Previous professional experience in one or more of the following: workforce planning, analytics, par level planning, scheduling, and logistics services
10. Ability to evaluate a problematic situation and create a resolution based on planning and reasoning. Use logic, judgement, and data to drive decisions
11. Visualises, articulates, and solves both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts and makes decisions that make sense based on all available information
12. Able to work flexibly to meet business needs
13. Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing, to gather and relay information in a multinational environment consisting of department heads, managers, coworkers, and shipboard employees.
14. Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, co-workers, and shipboard employees.
Preferred Skills
15. Experience in business analytics
16. Familiar with automated HR systems or workforce planning systems
17. Working knowledge of general shipboard functions on a cruise ship, and the general concept of the shipboard organisation
18. Knowledge of applicable immigration and visa requirements related to seafarers in various geographical areas
19. Understanding of applicable flag state and port state regulations related to seafarers training, licenses and certifications as needed
