This role reports to the Head of DSO Network Strategy and is based in our London office. It is a permanent position.
Salary will depend on skills, qualifications, and experience, with a bonus of 10%. After a 6-month probation, blended working (3 days in office, 2 remote) is available.

Company Context

Job Purpose
You will oversee development and delivery of UKPN's annual load analysis, forecasting for regulatory submissions, and support the delivery of UKPN's RIIO-ED2 DSO commitments. You will lead a team of engineers and analysts, acting as a key reference internally and externally.
Responsibilities include:
* Deliver regulatory submissions such as LTDS, PLE, Week 24/50, and Network Development Plans.
* Oversee the development of UKPN's Strategic Forecasting System (SFS).
* Collaborate with local and regional teams to incorporate insights into forecasts and planning.
Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of electricity distribution, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder collaboration. The role involves managing regulatory submissions and providing insights into network development needs.
Principal Accountabilities
* Support the development of company strategy for low-carbon transition and regulatory compliance.
* Lead a team of engineers, ensuring engagement and achievement of potential.
* Maintain compliance with Grid Code and Distribution Licence, including new LTDS standards.
* Incorporate government policies into forecasts, lead on DFES delivery, and manage related regulatory commitments.
* Develop and manage the Strategic Forecasting System budget.
* Collaborate with industry bodies and external partners, representing UKPN and translating industry outputs into actionable plans.
* Drive continuous improvement in network data and modeling tools.
* Report progress, benefits, opportunities, and risks to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years in related workstreams, preferably in electricity networks.
Knowledge & Skills
* Understanding of power systems, distribution and transmission network operation, and relevant codes (Grid, CUSC).
* Experience with power system modeling tools, ideally PowerFactory.
* Stakeholder engagement skills, with ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
* Experience supporting net zero and energy transition initiatives.
