Quality Engineer
We are seeking a hands‑on Quality Engineer, responsible for maintaining our high standards in manufacturing, liaising with customers on Quality matters and ensuring the robust implementation of our Quality Management System. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Conducting internal audits with respect to standard of work, planning, documentation, certification of parts/components, damage prevention, health and safety compliance and environmental compliance.
* Conducting scheduled audits in accordance with ISO9001, ensuring the Company remains in compliance with the requirements of relevant regulations and standards, and to ensure the quality management system has been implemented and is being maintained.
* Investigating quality failures, identifying trends, assisting the relevant CA/PA owners in the determination of root cause and monitoring of the stated containment, corrective and preventative actions.
* Liaising with customer representatives and assisting production departments with quality matters.
* Producing First Article Inspection Reports for customer approvals.
* Completing corrective action / 8D / 5Y / root cause reports for both internal and external non‑compliances.
* Producing and maintaining quality documentation such as Quality / FMEA Plans.
* Perform Quality Assurance duties as defined by QA Management
Permanent, on‑site working, 37 hours per week full time. Immediate start.
About You:
The candidate will ideally have suitable experience working within an ISO9001 manufacturing environment and have a good working knowledge and understanding of the standard. Quality and Engineering experience in alternative industries will be considered. We’re looking for someone practically minded who brings a keen eye for detail and a flexible approach to working, both autonomously and as part of a team. Ideally, you’ll have experience in a manufacturing environment within the electrical / electronics industry.
Other skills and experiences which would be beneficial:
* Wire and cable preparation; stripping, crimping and termination.
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical, logical approach. Observant and detail focussed.
* Strong communication skills, both shopfloor and customer orientated.
* Understanding of various cables, connectors and tooling cable assembly, wire preparation and soldering skills.
* A good understanding of Microsoft packages.
