You will be working with a development team based in London covering the South of England, working between the office and sites typically within 20 miles of the M25 around London. Your place of work would be split between the office and site depending on where you reside. EG. We have new sites starting soon in Bedford, Luton Gatwick and Colchester. Company Developer of Private Sector projects using traditional and design and build forms of contract New build works on green and brown field sites Demolition, extension, alteration and remodelling to existing facilities Internal and external refurbishment of occupied facilities Sectors include residential, commercial & industrial Position As an Intermediate, Site QS or Project QS who will provide commercial expertise and support / be responsible for the financial delivery of the assigned projects to ensure that they are procured and delivered within budget, to programme. You will be reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager and Construction Director running monthly reports, costings, contract / sub-contract packages and variations. There will be a team of Project Managers working alongside you on these projects. Primarily office based with site visits for meetings and valuations dependant on your level and location. Essential criteria: Strong understanding of the sub contract procurement process Minimum 3 years QS experience working on a range of projects and values Have worked for a developer, main contractor or sub-contractor Experience of both pre and post contract administration including preparing cost plans, estimates, measurement for bills of quantities, tendering & procurement, value engineering, tender reporting, valuations and final accounts Wide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures Technical knowledge of building materials, techniques and systems Computer literate excel/word/etc. Hold a full clean driving licence Personal and Professional Attributes Must approach problematic situations head-on, be prepared to be a sounding board and able to provide appropriate solutions Strong Interpersonal Skills Comfortable negotiating with subcontractors Professional approach Confidence to deal with people at all level
