Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Product Developer at ProGARM located in Newport. The Product Developer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to communication, research and development (R&D), product management, and product development. This role allows for flexibility and includes the option to work remotely.
As a Product Developer, you will be responsible for creating new products based on project briefing by creating product visuals, base patterns, grading patterns, construction file, size charts and wearer fit guides. As well as ensuring prototypes are made correctly as per design requirements by liaising with factory either by video calls or visiting the factory personally when needed.
Key Accountabilities
•Ensure products are developed in a timely manner.
•Keeping up with market trends and innovations.
•Ensure ProGARM and FlamePro garments are kept at the forefront of the market and constantly improved.
•Create product visuals and concept drawings.
•Create product patterns in efficient way by maximising fabric usage.
•Grading product patterns to various sizes and length fits.
•Create construction files with visuals to aid factories in garment making.
•Create product size charts for quality control and wearer fit guides.
•Maintain traceability of product changes.
•Create markers for sample and prototype orders.
•Market research, visiting exhibitions abroad for design inspiration.
•Ensure product samples and prototypes are made correctly by liaising with factory and answering technical questions either by video calls or visiting factory.
•Pre-production sample approval of new products.
Skills and Experience
* Ability to develop a variety of product types, such as but not limited to.
* Baselayers, polo shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, ¼ zip sweatshirts
* Single layer jackets, trousers, dungarees, coveralls
* Multi-layered waterproof jackets, trousers, dungarees, coveralls
* Firefighter structural jackets, trousers
* Ability to create various product fits such as male, female, unisex.
* Excellent at using: AccuMark Gerber, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word
* Ensure developed products comply with design requirements of various standards as per product brief document.
* Great attention to detail.
* Able to work as part of a team working towards a common goal.
Remuneration and Incentives
Basic Salary: range of £30,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
