Job Description
Our specialist education recruitment agency is currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work in a variety of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Pontypool. With increasing demand for classroom support staff, we have short-term, long-term, and permanent opportunities available.
The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant in a primary setting, you will:
1. Support pupils across Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2
2. Work 1:1 or with small groups of children
3. Assist pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
4. Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
5. Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities
6. Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
We Are Looking For:
7. Experience working with children (school, nursery, care, youth work, or similar)
8. A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills
10. A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
11. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning) – desirable but not essential
12. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
