About The Role
The Telegraph needs a dynamic, creative news video journalist with experience of producing original, agenda-setting projects to join our ambitious team.

Key Responsibilities
* To pitch high-impact and original video journalism ideas in line with The Telegraph's editorial priorities.
* To produce premium short- and long-form video content, including scripting, editing and delivering.
* To shoot on-location for interviews, features and mini-documentaries, including being available for travel at short notice.
* Competent operation of our own in-house studio facilities – camera operation and good lighting/vision and audio mixing.
* To mentor and support junior video producers, providing editorial guidance and feedback to raise team standards.
* To work closely with editors, reporters and audience teams on impactful publication plans to maximise reach across The Telegraph's platforms.
* To contribute to the strategic development of The Telegraph's video output, especially across YouTube, identifying new formats and growth opportunities.
Key Skills
Proven experience producing video journalism in a news or current affairs environment.
* Advanced video editing skills for digital platforms (Adobe Premiere Pro preferred).
* Ability to shoot independently, often in high-pressured and potentially hostile environments.
* Capable of managing multiple deadlines at once and working calmly under pressure.
* Strong working knowledge of media law and editorial compliance. You will ideally have a journalistic (rather than a technical) background.
* Strong communication skills, with experience working closely with senior editors and in a team.
* Deep understanding of social and digital video platforms and audience behaviour.
Desirable skills
* Experience commissioning, mentoring or overseeing other video producers.
* Experience producing long-form or investigative feature video.
* Experience contributing to video strategy or format development.
