We have an exciting role on offer within our Public Health Service as a Recovery Housing Caseworker.
We are seeking a resilient, proactive, and compassionate Caseworker to join our Housing Team within Middlesbrough Council, working specifically with service users who are affected by substance use and housing instability.
Our multi-disciplinary team delivers vital, person-centred support to individuals facing complex challenges such as substance use, domestic abuse, and homelessness. Our aim is to empower service users to make lasting change by providing tailored interventions, recovery-focused support, and clear pathways to stability and independence.
The post holder will work directly with service users across a range of settings, including temporary and supported accommodation, completing assessments, developing recovery plans, delivering psychosocial interventions, and coordinating support with clinical teams and partner agencies. You will be required to work flexibly and proactively, using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach to help people achieve and sustain recovery.
We offer a supportive working environment, opportunities for professional development, employee discounts, and a competitive pension scheme.
Applicants must have relevant experience with vulnerable groups, strong communication skills, a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle and business insurance and be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check. If you are motivated to support service users to improve their lives, we would welcome your application.

Please note Middlesbrough Council do not currently offer sponsorships.
The above post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
