Job Purpose: To provide information, check in, escort and general assistance to scheduled and charter passengers to the highest standard of customer care. The Terminal Services Department provides, on behalf of airlines and aircraft operators, a handling service for their passengers. The service provided will include check in, seat allocation, baggage accounting, aircraft loading checking travel documentation, aircraft boarding, load control, escort to and from the aircraft, recording and reconciling lost or damaged property and providing assistance to special needs passengers, i.e., passengers with disabilities, unaccompanied minors, and the elderly. Principal Accountabilities Deal with the General Public and provide flight information. Ensure flight information systems are updated and correct. Operate the PA system. Make reservations amend bookings and collect fees in accordance with the operators procedures. Perform administration tasks in relation to the ticket desk. Ensure that all reports are complete and that monies are correct at the end of a shift and for the weekend. Perform operational duties and ensure that all relevant documents are completed in accordance with company and airline policy e.g., Load Sheets, Passenger Manifests, Flight Files, reports etc. Provide delay information to relevant departments and airlines, complete SITA functions: deal with disrupted passengers, arranging HOTAC and LRVs; and carry out administration duties relating to operational shifts and provide crews with weather updates, NOTAMS. Carry out check-in duties ensuring that passengers are checked in accurately, according to the Airline Policies and Procedures and that hold baggage reconciliation requirements are compliant. Ensure that the check in area is well stocked and maintained and that required safety and security information is displayed. Escort passengers to and from aircraft and the terminal making sure that safety and security regulations are complied with. Staff the departure lounges and ensure passengers with special requirements are cared for. Ensure that Flight Information Display Systems and Flight Management Systems are updated and correct. Operate the telephone and PA system. Remain proficient with the technology, policies and procedures used within the department. Undertake training as determined by the department and each operational airline. Attain & Maintain competence in each role. Promote a positive image of City of Derry Airport and ensure that a high standard of customer care is always offered. Operate switchboard at Customer Services Desk; record and distribute deliveries effectively. Provide escort for unaccompanied minors. Provide support as necessary to passengers requiring additional assistance. Operate the baggage tracing system and reconcile passengers luggage. Monitor the general upkeep of public areas, report issues and initiate corrective action. Promote a positive image of City of Derry Airport and ensure that a high standard of customer care is always offered. Manage the Car Park system. including passenger queries, system outages and defect reporting Liaise with external agencies such as the PSNI portal, UKBF and DAERA.
