About the role:
On behalf of our client, The Management Recruitment Group is seeking an Associate Engineer to join the operational function of a leading, employee-owned company with a major European footprint. You’ll take projects through their full lifecycle; from initial technical review and planning, right through to installation, commissioning and handover within a business that empowers engineers to deliver real, hands-on impact.
Key Accountabilities:
* Lead and deliver maintenance-focused engineering projects, including M&E plant upgrades, chiller replacements and lifecycle refurbishments.
* Manage projects from concept, technical assessment and feasibility through to installation, commissioning and completion.
* Undertake technical due diligence, condition surveys, and diagnostic assessments of building services systems.
* Provide expert advice on the lifecycle management of M&E systems, including asset performance and risk.
* Support clients with building optimisation strategies, energy efficiency improvements and sustainability initiatives.
* Work closely with FM teams and service providers to advise on operational efficiency and system improvements.
* Coordinate and manage contractors and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
* Prepare high-quality technical reports, feasibility studies and client recommendations.
* Ensure all works comply with company quality standards, relevant regulations and health & safety requirements.
* Contribute to business development through high-quality client service and technical excellence.
You will need to be:
The ideal candidate is an Operational Engineer with strong experience in M&E building services. They will bring a mix of project management, surveying and design, taking projects through the full lifecycle, while confidently managing contractors and engaging with clients
Background, Skills, and Qualifications:
* Experience in operational and M&E building services
* Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related building services discipline.
* Previous consultancy experience is highly desirable, though strong candidates from FM, contractor or client-side backgrounds will also be considered.
* Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
* Experience within the Commercial space
* Good understanding of UK regulations, compliance, and health & safety requirements.
* Professional registration (CEng, IEng) or working towards chartership is an advantage.
