Electrical Engineer (On-site, London) – Sunday Lighting
Sunday Lighting is building lighting that recreates the feel and physiological effects of real daylight.
The role
You’ll own embedded hardware and firmware for our products, from PCB design and board bring‑up through to firmware, cloud connectivity and getting certified, manufacturable hardware into the field.
What you will do
* Take hardware from prototype → pilot → production
* Design and iterate PCBs and firmware for Espressif (ESP32) and Nordic (nRF) based boards
* Support product certification (e.g. CE/UKCA, UL, EMC, safety, wireless) with external labs
* Work with suppliers/CMs to resolve DFM issues and production bugs
What we are looking for
* Strong experience in PCB design and embedded hardware for MCU‑based products
* Hands‑on firmware experience with Espressif and/or Nordic platforms
* Solid understanding of power, digital interfaces (UART, I²C, SPI, GPIO) and basic analogue design
* Experience taking at least one physical product from early prototype to market
* Exposure to certification and compliance processes (CE/UKCA, UL, FCC, etc.)
* Comfortable with mechanical integration of electronics into real‑world assemblies
Nice‑to‑have
* Lighting electronics or high‑power LED experience
* Experience working with contract manufacturers and production test processes
* BLE/Wi‑Fi connectivity and OTA update systems

* Full‑time, on‑site in our workshop (Park Royal, London)
* Salary £45–70k + stock options
* Travel to suppliers/factories as needed (UK/EU/Asia)
