Overview
We are looking for an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer - Electrical Bias to work with a prestigious Mitie client to conduct work that provides a multi-skilled maintenance service across electrical and mechanical disciplines. The role includes reactive and pro-active maintenance on all operational equipment on a Critical National Infrastructure site.
Responsibilities
* Carry out routine PPM tasks and planned maintenance in line with scheduled dates.
* Perform reactive repairs and electrical installation work as required.
* Ensure all documentation is completed correctly for all tasks and that reactive tasks are reported and recorded on the CAFM system.
* Assist with general building maintenance activities as needed.
* Uphold high standards in line with company policies and procedures; report any deficiencies in systems or equipment that may affect service delivery, health and safety, or the environment.
* Ensure own work and the work of those under supervision are completed safely and diligently.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Appropriate up-to-date training, including but not limited to City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent, 17th/18th edition IEE wiring regulations.
* Experience using a range of maintenance equipment.
* IPAF 3A & 3B and basic mechanical knowledge is desirable but not essential.
* Good knowledge of building statutory compliance.
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings; good problem-solving and decision-making skills; effective verbal and written communication.
* Ability to work safely and ethically on a site with critical infrastructure.
Role Details
* Role: CNI Shift Engineer to cover site as per the rota below.
* Shift pattern: 5 days on, 2 off; 6 days on, 3 off; 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
* Normal hours: day shift 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.
* On-call rota to support out-of-hours site operations; when on shift, you are also on call.
Desirable Skills
* BMS knowledge.
* Experience of maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical equipment to clearly defined criteria.
* Physically able to carry tools and components by hand up to 20 kg.
* Experience of working in a critical environment/data centre.
* Willingness to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice; flexible in working patterns.
Suitable training may be provided as needed to ensure the candidate is competent to acquire the required skills.
