Senior Manager, Compensation and Benefits
Permanent
Birmingham- Hybrid
£70-80,000 per annum plus Bonus
Middlemore has been retained to appoint an experienced Senior Compensation and Benefits Manager for a prominent Financial Services organisation, based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will report to the Director of HR Operations and will be responsible for the technical and commercial delivery of the company's compensation and benefit frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and company control frameworks. This role covers multiple geographies across the UK, France, Italy, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium. As a subject matter expert, you will build engaging relationships with various stakeholders across the business. Key responsibilities include:
Compensation:
* Collaborate with the U.S. Compensation team to apply the company's job evaluation, salary survey, and benchmarking methodology (currently Willis Towers Watson Global Grading System), ensuring real-time data ownership.
* Partner with the SVP Human Resources to develop annual salary ranges and configure Workday salary grades.
* Use internal and external data proactively to identify market and economic trends impacting talent attraction and retention, communicating findings promptly.
* Manage and deliver the reward cycle effectively, collaborating with the US Compensation team, local HRBPs, and business leaders, while educating them on Workday system usage and reporting.
* Conduct governance and compliance checks across all compensation areas, ensuring adherence to legislation and regulatory frameworks in each country.
* Ensure data integrity for all compensation elements through audits and issue resolution.
* Comply with all regulatory, legal, and company control frameworks and meet statutory reporting requirements, ensuring data transparency.
* Coordinate with Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting, accruals, and spend.
Benefits:
* Oversee and administer current benefits schemes, ensuring compliance with local regulations and frameworks.
* Manage annual renewal cycles of benefit programs and self-selection processes.
* Work with the Director of HR Operations to keep benefit offerings competitive and cost-effective.
* Partner with Payroll Operations to verify data accuracy and resolve benefit-related payroll issues.
* Maintain accurate benefit records and documentation.
MI, Metrics & Data:
* Lead HR metrics and data reporting initiatives.
* Develop dashboards for real-time business metric visibility.
* Identify improvements in data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
* Collaborate with US HR analytics to develop tools supporting data management.
* Work with HR stakeholders to develop reports, including Board metrics, headcount, and people costs.
* Ensure data accuracy and mitigate reporting risks.
Required Experience:
* Strong knowledge of global compensation frameworks, salary surveys, and benchmarking, especially with systems like WTWGGF.
* Proven experience managing reward cycles and ensuring regulatory compliance.
* Experience with collective bargaining agreements.
* European work experience is essential.
* Strong project management skills are preferred.
