Class Teacher – Primary school in Sheppey
We’re searching for a classroom superstar, part educator, part magician, part everyday hero to join our close-knit, high-energy school team by the sea. Here on the Isle of Sheppey, the air is fresher, the community tighter, and the children’s questions more delightfully unexpected. (“Do worms have belly buttons?” – actual quote.) We're looking for a Primary Class Teacher with a spark, someone who doesn't just teach the curriculum but breathes life into it. Storytellers, science sleuths, number ninjas... your table is ready.
Contract: September start – Until July 2026 at least
Salary: £163-£223 per day
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging, inclusive and imaginative lessons across the primary curriculum
* Create a safe, supportive classroom environment where every child feels seen and heard
* Spark curiosity and build confidence through creative learning experiences
* Assess progress and tailor teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
* Work closely with parents, carers, and colleagues to champion every child’s journey
* Embrace seaside field trips, muddy knees, and the occasional glitter explosion
* Lead by example and help shape a vibrant school culture with positivity and purpose
Essential Qualifications & Qualities
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) — you’ve got the badge and the passion to match
* Proven classroom experience, especially in Key Stage 1 or 2
* A flair for creative teaching that makes learning stick (and smile)
* Strong behaviour management, patience, and a sense of humour (non-negotiable)
* Committed to continuous professional development (lifelong learning rocks!)
* A heart for community, a head full of ideas, and hands ready to get stuck in
