Timeout Homes is seeking a dedicated Head Teacher to lead Brookland School, our specialist education provision for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. 1. Shape the school’s strategic vision in collaboration with the Director of Education.
2. Lead and inspire a team of teaching and non-teaching staff.
3. Ensure high standards of teaching and learning across all subjects.
4. Foster a positive and structured school culture, ensuring pupils feel safe, valued, and supported.
5. Develop and implement effective school policies and processes.
6. Oversee school improvement plans, identifying and addressing barriers to success.
7. Ensure that pupils with SEMH needs and additional learning needs receive the support they need.
8. Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to create a holistic support network for each child.
9. Maintain compliance with Independent School Standards and safeguarding regulations.
10. Make a difference: Be part of an organisation that is transforming children’s lives.
11. Supportive leadership: Work alongside experienced professionals in education and residential care.

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and a relevant degree.
* At least 2 years of leadership experience within a school setting.
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
* A proven track record of school improvement and staff development.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and build positive relationships.
* A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and promoting the wellbeing of all students.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for bettering the lives of children and young people who require help and educational support.
* NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) or NPQSL (Senior Leadership).
* Experience in specialist SEMH provisions or alternative education settings.
* Knowledge of school finance and resource management.
