Psychology Graduate Roles – Autism & Special Needs (Surrey)

Locations: Guildford, Woking, Epsom, Farnham, Reigate, Redhill, and across Surrey Role Type: Learning Support Assistant – Temporary / Agency (Full-time & Part-time available) Start Date: January onwards Pay: From £101 per day (with progression opportunities)

About the Opportunity

Are you a Psychology graduate eager to make a real difference? This is your chance to step into a rewarding role supporting children with Autism and Special Educational Needs (SEN) across Surrey.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with students in mainstream and specialist schools, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Whether you’re considering a career in educational psychology, social work, or teaching, this role offers invaluable hands-on experience in a supportive environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Providing tailored one-to-one and small group support for students with Autism and SEN

2. Assisting with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies

3. Encouraging positive learning experiences and personal growth

4. Collaborating with teachers and specialists to deliver inclusive education

5. Supporting students with personal care needs (training provided)

6. Monitoring progress and sharing feedback with staff and families

7. Creating a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment

What We’re Looking For

8. A Psychology degree (or related field) – desirable but not essential

9. Experience with children or young people with SEN is a bonus, but not required

10. Passion, patience, and empathy for supporting additional needs

11. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

12. A proactive, solution-focused mindset and team spirit

13. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
