Electronics Design Engineer

Are you an experienced Electronics Engineer looking to work on cutting-edge projects within the Defence industry? My client, a leading electronics OEM based in Portland, Dorset, is seeking a skilled engineer to join their growing design team.
In this role, you'll take system requirements and turn them into innovative, reliable, and compliant electronic design solutions. You'll be part of a highly skilled engineering team delivering high-quality products and systems that make a real impact.
What you'll be doing
* Designing and developing electronic solutions, from architecture through to detailed design.
* Collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure successful outcomes.
* Considering design for manufacture and test to ensure smooth production handover.
* Integrating and testing systems, including hands-on fault finding and troubleshooting.
* Working with external test houses to achieve CE/UKCA and MoD compliance.
* Producing high-quality technical documentation (schematics, BOMs, change notes).
* Providing occasional offsite support for installation and maintenance activities.
What you'll need
* Degree (or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
* Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance (essential).
* Broad experience across analogue and digital circuit design, ideally including:
* Low-noise power supply and distribution circuitry
* Analogue signal conditioning
* Data acquisition systems
* Digital interfacing and FPGA-based control
* Understanding of design for EMC compliance.
