Company Secretary Assistant

London based

Hybrid working (4 days in office)


SSQ is partnering with a specialist governance advisory firm to recruit an Executive or Senior Executive (depending on experience) to join its growing company secretarial team in Central London.

This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified governance professional looking to build on their existing company secretarial experience and gain exposure to a range of industries and listed environments.


Key Responsibilities

* Preparing board meeting agendas and compiling digital board packs
* Attending board meetings and producing high-quality draft minutes
* Drafting AGM notices and supporting documentation
* Reviewing annual report disclosures against applicable corporate governance codes
* Maintaining digital statutory books and company records
* Filing statutory and regulatory notifications with relevant authorities
* Maintaining Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) insider lists and related records
* Supporting corporate transactions, including IPOs and other key corporate events
* Conducting technical research into client queries relating to legal, regulatory and governance matters


Candidate Requirements

* At least 18 months’ experience in a company secretarial or governance role
* Currently studying towards the CGI qualification (or recently started)
* Minimum 2:1 degree in law, finance, history, English or a related subject
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly advanced formatting in Word
* Working knowledge of the Companies Act 2006
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* A collaborative, team-focused attitude
