Programmes and Partnerships Coordinator – Ethiopia
The Donkey Sanctuary is an international animal welfare organisation, offering care and protection to donkeys worldwide. This role is part of the International and Partnerships team as a Programmes and Partnerships Coordinator for Ethiopia, working with the Regional Programmes and Partnerships Advisor (RPPA) – Africa.
* Salary: £31,425 per annum (UK) – Ethiopia ETB 591,250, Kenya KES 2,302,095
* Location: Sidmouth, United Kingdom (UK), Ethiopia or Kenya (remote/hybrid)
* Contract: Fixed‑term contract until 30 November 2027, full time
* Working hours: 35 hours per week, 08:30 – 16:30 Monday – Friday, hybrid working 1‑2 days per month
About You
* Significant Ethiopian experience in a sector adjacent to animal welfare, international development or related.
* Demonstrable project/programme cycle management experience, ideally in animal welfare or international development.
* Degree level education or equivalent experience.
* Understanding and experience of appropriate use of project monitoring and reporting tools.
* Experience of working and communicating internationally, demonstrating the ability to build strong working relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
* Competent IT skills, including MS Office.
* Fluent in English.
Responsibilities
* Support programme cycle management for funded partnerships in Ethiopia, including processing funding applications, arranging project grants, maintaining effective partnership relationships, reporting and learning.
* Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures, especially partner due diligence.
* Support the RPPA Africa in delivering The Donkey Sanctuary’s strategies in Ethiopia by ensuring internal capacities, competencies and resources.
* Coordinate Ethiopia projects and programmes to ensure they are monitored and evaluated appropriately, ensuring positive outcomes and effective deployment of resources.
* Engage frequently with country teams to ensure that the Ethiopia country programme and the organisation are fully coordinated.
* Support the collation of context analysis, data, case studies and photographs to contribute to how we manage and talk about our work.

Working pattern will be hybrid, combining onsite and home working; onsite attendance is anticipated to be 1‑2 days a month. The pattern will be agreed between the line manager and post holder.
