The Technical & Support / Income Team provide a wide range of support services and functions across Transactional and Customer Services. We are looking to recruit a Technical and Support Officer to join our fast paced and diverse team. WHAT IS INVOLVED? The Technical and Support team covers several areas of responsibility including: Testing and implementation of all system enhancements and software releases Develop opportunities to maximise the use of technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the system and the service. Integrate systems to provide data to support the completion government statistical returns Provide system maintenance, security and support to the service area core systems. Provide technical and support services for service improvement projects Prepare and present appeals to the Valuation tribunal.in respect of Council Tax liability and discretionary reductions Provide Quality Assurance for teams within transactional and customer service Co-ordinate, design and deliver training for internal and external stakeholders as required We encourage you to contact MARK ELLISON via email at mark.ellison@durham.gov.uk to arrange an informal discussion about the role. WHAT WILL I NEED? You should be educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and have experience of working in a Revenues and Benefits setting and/or a financial services or support environment. You should have a detailed knowledge of Revenues and Benefits legislation and practice and have excellent ICT skills. You should be an excellent communicator and be able to work under pressure and occasionally outside of normal office working hours.
