Overview of Role:
This will be a business support role in a UK Company which currently employs around people. RHI's scope of activities are:
The supply, installation and maintenance of Electric Fencing Systems, Automated Gate and Barrier Systems, Earthing and Lightning Protection Systems, structural steelwork designed, fabricated (BSEN ISO-EXC 2) and erected. Fencing, CCTV, Access control and alarms systems across major utilities such as National Grid, National Gas and Scottish Power.
In this role, you will be part of the QHSE team reporting to the QHSE Manager. Your primary tasks will be carrying out regular on site audits, delivering QHSE messages, driving a well established and H+S culture, providing input for the Business Quality Management System and assist in maintaining our ISO, ISO and EN certifications.
Working closely with the Division and Project Managers and employees, you will help RHI meet its objectives and contribute to enhancements in business performance and customer value within the organisation.
Your office base would be located in the North East of England, Matfen, NE20 0RQ but will be expected to carry out extensive travel throughout the UK if required, but with a focus on the midlands to southern England. A mix of site, office and remote working is expected to meet business demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include the following:
1. Enforcement and driving of the Company QHSE culture and systems.
2. Maintaining and supporting continual improvement of the ISO, ISO and EN certifications.
3. Conducting internal & external QHSE audits and developing audit schedules for projects inline with company policy for sensible monitoring schedules.
Main duties:
Your duties will include the following:
4. Reporting accidents, incidents and safety spots promptly and carrying out low level investigations
5. Supporting the delivery of new employee inductions
6. Helping to ensure QHSE processes and standards are effectively implemented across all business activities
7. Manage and conduct internal and site QHSE audits
8. Report audit findings to the QHSE Manager with the aim of harnessing best practice and eradicating non value processes
9. Assist in working towards achieving ISO certification as part of creating an integrated management system
10. Advise and give guidance to project managers and designers on all QHSE matters.
11. Carry out drug and alcohol tests on colleagues
12. Seek to identify new and improved processes which benefit the deliverables to the company's clients and provide easy-to-use procedures for employees.
13. Spend time as required at company offices throughout the UK and other work-sites as required
14. Maintain company objectives to achieve continual improvement
15. Liaise with the company QHSE Manager, General Managers to provide / implement QHSE awareness and processes.
16. Any other duties as may reasonably be required from time-to-time and within the employees physical and technical capability
Experience:
Essential
17. Understanding of ISO, ISO, ISO and EN standards
18. 3 years of demonstrable experience in a QHSE role at any level.
19. Auditing/ inspection skills associated with QHSE
Desirable
20. QHSE Compliance experience associated with National Grid Electric or National Gas or similar high risk, highly regulated environments.
21. Accident and incident investigation
22. Experience or competency in training delivery.
23. Engineering, mechanical or electrical background
Qualifications & Accreditations:
Essential
24. NEBOSH General, construction or other similar qualifications such as IOSH. (Flexible in this matter)
Desirable
25. Qualified and/or experienced Auditor in ISO, ISO, ISO
Environmental / sustainability qualification or experience in developing processes
Competencies and personal skills for this role will include the following:
26. Thorough knowledge of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and requirements in the UK
27. Good working knowledge and extensive experience in Microsoft Office software products, such as PowerBi, Teams, Sharepoint, Planner.
28. Planning & Organising: The ability to establish appropriate courses of action for self and/or others to accomplish a goal (Be able to self deploy)
29. Communication: Able to express facts, ideas or feedback in a clear and concise
30. Clear & concise report writing skills.
31. Be able to build good working relationships with colleagues at different levels.
