This Payroll Officer role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in payroll looking for their next paymentsposition in Long Eaton. Based in Nottingham, the position focuses on ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing in alignment with established practices. The role is hybrid, requiring one day of working from home, and is available after training.

Client Details: Our client is dedicated to delivering high‑quality services in Long Eaton while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence. They are looking for a Payroll Officer to join the team on a permanent basis, paying up to £30,000 a year.


Responsibilities

* Process payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
* Maintain payroll records and update employee information within payroll systems.
* Calculate employee deductions such as taxes, pensions, and other contributions.
* Respond to payroll‑related queries from employees and management in a timely manner.
* Assist with year‑end payroll processes, including issuing P60s and completing relevant tax forms.
* Ensure timely submission of payroll reports to relevant authorities.
* Run multiple payrolls.
* Handle end‑to‑end payroll processes.
* Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure reconciliation of payroll accounts.
* Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation.
* Support the wider finance team when required.


Qualifications

* Local to Long Eaton.
* Ability to commute to the client’s office five days a week for the initial training period.
* Proven experience in processing payroll within a professional environment.
* Knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including tax and pension regulations.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information.
* Proficiency in payroll systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Effective communication skills to address queries and liaise with team members.
* A proactive approach to problem‑solving and process improvement.
* Experience using SAGE is essential.
* Experience supporting finance in a wider capacity.
