Retail Bar & Hospitality Managers – Bath Racecourse
About the Role
This is a casual, flexible position focused on managing our bars, food outlets, or hospitality suites on race days and selected event dates. As a Retail Bar or Hospitality Manager, you'll take ownership of service delivery, team performance, and operational efficiency across your designated area.
What You'll Do
* Lead, motivate, and support your team to deliver consistent, high-quality service.
* Ensure every guest receives a warm welcome and professional, attentive experience.
* Brief, train, and develop team members so they're confident and event-ready.
* Manage staffing levels, break schedules, and shift planning on the day.
* Maintain stock levels, assist with rotation, and minimise wastage.
* Uphold excellent standards of cleanliness and compliance across Health & Safety, COSHH, and licensing requirements.
* Resolve customer queries or complaints promptly and professionally.
* Create a positive, energetic atmosphere for both guests and staff.
* Drive sales, upselling opportunities, and overall business performance.
* Delegate tasks clearly to ensure smooth, efficient service delivery.

* Proven experience in retail or hospitality management within fast-paced environments.

* Experience using tills and PDQ machines.
* Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Desirable Experience
* Background in premium F&B, events, or restaurant management.
* Knowledge of licensing, food hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
* Personal Licence Holder (advantageous).
* Strong organisation, planning, and systems skills.
* Track record of increasing sales and improving operational standards.
* Natural ability to motivate teams and encourage positive working culture.
