Due to a huge increase in work, our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Technician to add to their dedicated & committed team.
The ideal candidate will be required to follow assembly and final assembly processes of composite panel manufacture inclusive of:
1. Potting of inserts
2. Bonding of various brackets and equipment
3. Bonding of inserts, using various adhesives
4. Bonding components and sub-assemblies using adhesives to drawing specifications
5. Produce work to required quality standards
6. Produce work to drawing specification and procedural guidelines
7. Maintain all health & safety disciplines in the composite area
8. Self-inspection
9. Ability to read and understand Detailed engineering drawings and procedures
10. Experience of using various hand / air tools
11. Awareness and adherence to all the company Health & Safety procedures
12. High tolerance requirements (typically better than 0.05mm in various areas)
Key responsibilities of the role:
13. To work in accordance with 21 Aero methods & procedures
14. Complying with standard processes, specific area requirements and health & safety requirements
15. Taking progress and reporting to management when required - Providing input to shop floor meetings when requested
16. To play an active part in maintaining disciplines and continuous improvement activities
17. Provide support when required throughout company departments
18. From time to time, you may be asked to work off site; this may be in the UK or abroad
19. To participate in handover when requested, providing inputs to ensure job progression through shift change
Key skills & desirable knowledge:
20. Previous experience in a Manual Handling Role
21. Manual Dexterity
22. Previous experience within a production/manufacturing environment with regular use of hand tools
23. Ability to follow procedures and work instructions / manuals.
24. Comfortable working to tight time frames with demanding quality requirements
25. Candidates must demonstrate previous experience of using their own initiative.
26. High attention to detail.
27. Ability to work from detailed drawings and electronic work instructions – within specific procedures.
28. Experience in industries such as space / aerospace / automotive / motorsport etc
The working hours are 0730 - 1630 Monday to Thursday and 0730 - 1230 on a Friday.
