Are you a practical, hands-on Maintenance Engineer who s just as comfortable on the tools as you are organising suppliers and managing facilities? We're working with a well-established manufacturer in the Sittingbourne area that s looking for a reliable and experienced Maintenance Engineer to take ownership of maintenance and facilities across the site.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a long-term, stable role where you can make a real impact while enjoying a varied working day around 50% hands-on and 50% planning, organising and coordinating.
What You ll Be Doing:
* Carrying out mechanical and electrical maintenance (reactive and planned)
* Managing all site facilities, equipment, and infrastructure
* Creating, implementing, and monitoring maintenance schedules and procedures
* Coordinating external contractors and inspections
* Maintaining inventories for spares and consumables
* Taking a proactive role in safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
* Being the go-to person for all things maintenance on-site
What We re Looking For:
* Previous experience in a manufacturing maintenance role (mechanical/electrical)
* Comfortable being the sole maintenance engineer on site
* Solid mechanical skills with some electrical knowledge (18th Edition desirable)
* Great organisational skills able to manage time, schedules, and contractors
* Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
* A steady, level-headed approach with a team-player mindset
