The position is based at our office in Romford, where we focus on delivering high-quality and efficient solutions to our clients.Job Description: The Mechanical Estimator will be pivotal in preparing accurate cost estimates for projects, working closely with internal teams and clients to ensure competitive and comprehensive bids. This role involves a strong emphasis on detailed analysis and effective cost management to support project success from inception to completion.Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and identifying key cost factors, such as materials, labor, and time requirements. Review and assess client requirements and tender documents to ensure thorough bid proposals. Utilize specialized software for estimation to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops. Consult with industry experts to discuss estimates and resolve issues. Prepare and present reports detailing the outcome of tender processes. Manage and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive pricing. Oversee and review contractual agreements, ensuring all parties meet the project's financial conditions.Key Skills & Qualifications: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in mathematical estimations. Detailed knowledge of industry practices and regulations. Proficiency in estimation software and MS Office. Robust negotiation and project management skills. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
