An entry point role within the Estimating and Preconstruction field is available with our Southampton-based client. This role provides a structured opportunity to develop your career into an Estimator or Contract Supervision role as your skills, experience and knowledge progress.
Ideally you will have a background in construction or civil engineering, as you will need to understand the technical side of the role from day one. This is a niche role within a specific industry, so expect a steep learning curve. You will need to absorb information, be hard working and quick to learn.
The role itself will be supporting the Senior Estimator for a company providing cutting-edge solutions to clients worldwide on anything from small-scale repairs to large infrastructure projects within the civil engineering industry.
Responsibilities
* Able to interpret and understand clients' requirements
* Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* A good communicator as you will be interacting with clients and colleagues at all levels
* Used to working under pressure and to deadlines
* Utilising your strong numerical and analytical skills as well as your proficiency with Microsoft Office
* Able to drive - you need a full UK driving licence and car to attend site visits

* Salary in the range £30,935pa to £36,512pa depending on experience and skills
* Working hours 08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday

Requirements and notes
Although this is an Estimator Assistant position, it is not a junior role for someone with no engineering background.
