Joining us on a full-time basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £26,000 per annum plus excellent benefits. About the role: The Repair Workshop Technical Assistant will be required to enhance all asset repair activities, workflow processes and technical enquires with the Repair Workshop (RWS) based at Exewater. To enable efficient, effective and productive day-to-day operation within the Repair Workshop facilities.
What you will be doing:
1. Dealing with workshop communication with external suppliers and internal customers, which includes work prioritisation against demand.
2. Coordinate with various departments to ensure that risks associated with “out of service” assets are managed effectively.
3. Provide administration support to both Repair Workshop facilities to ensure common and best work practices are achieved.
4. Issuing of Repair Workshop job packs to Craftsperson’s.
5. Monitor, manage and use the Repair Workshop mailbox for all correspondence.
6. Have a good understanding of the Technical aspects of Repair workshop activity in order to be able to discuss and make decisions with the Craft Team, suppliers and customers.
7. Liaise with suppliers on technical requirements, pricing, and deliveries and follow up on orders and enquiries.
8. Support the craft teams with the customisation of assets (new/disposed) through the company’s asset management platform (MADE).
9. Provide Repair Workshop reports to the Regional Repair Workshop Manager.
10. Work with customers to provide advice and information on repair v replacement costs and options.
11. Effective organising of repair workshop documentation and job files to a concise and well organised auditable standard required for ISO, Health & Safety and ATEX.
12. Review Repair Workshop processes and procedures on an annual basis, advising of any amendments.
13. Take control and action Statutory Inspections aligned to the Repair Workshop
14. Record assets coming into workshop for repair and create relevant complex work orders and subsequent Inspect, Quote, Repair/Replace and Return to Service work orders and associated job packs.
15. Undertake receipting of goods received for purchase orders in line with ‘Procure to Pay’ business rules.
16. Attend and take an active role in workshop team meetings as well as recording minutes and actions.
17. Management and control of PPE and Tools procurement on behalf of the Regional Repair Workshop Manager.
18. Address any irregularities or issues with suppliers or Service Providers including the raising of Vendor Concern Reports.
19. Provide communication and feedback of repair process to customers as required.
What we are looking for:
20. Experience of dealing with customer enquiries in a prompt and effective manner.
21. Proven experience of working in a busy office environment.
22. Data analysis to support RCA of failed assets.
23. Experience in dealing with various external suppliers, service providers and contractors.
24. Minimum 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above, including Mathematics, English and a subject (or equivalent)
