The Role

Provide domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire, (NHSL) premises through the use of effective and efficient methods, which deliver a ‘safe’ and welcoming environment and meet the required NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI )standards.

What we'll need you to bring

1. Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
2. Required to undertake on the job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked ), to achieve full competency across a range of duties
3. Working knowledge Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks
4. Required to undertake Prevention, Assessment & Management Of Violence & Aggression (PaMOVA) training level 1 and level 2, if identified following a appropriate risk assessment
5. Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
6. Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards
7. Undertake and complete NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
8. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
9. Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
10. Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment
11. Working knowledge of basic information technology.

It would be great if you also have

12. Recognised SVQ or equivalent relevant qualification
13. Experience working within a domestic services/cleaning environment
14. Knowledge of systems and processes eg HAI; Manual Handling; Management of Aggression; Infection Control; COSHH; Fire Safety
15. Use of range of electrical cleaning equipment
16. Flexible
17. Willing to learn
18. Ability to work under pressure

Contract type

19. Fixed Term for 6 months
20. Part Time
21. 15 hours

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Please note this is a fixed term post for 6 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Domestic Services within Wester Moffat Hospital.

The working pattern for this role -

22. Monday - Friday - 16.00-19.00
