The Role of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will support upcoming and live engineering projects, working alongside the wider engineering team to deliver high-quality designs, documentation, and technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
Produce 3D and 2D designs using SolidWorks (preferred) and AutoCAD
Design new equipment and improve existing machinery and systems
Update drawings, assemblies, and layouts as projects evolve
Prepare technical documentation: reports, manuals, specifications
Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, compliance and project teams
Support technical problem-solving across machinery and equipment
Ensure designs meet all quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
Requirements of the Mechanical Design Engineer:
HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications
At least 3 years’ experience in design or manufacturing engineering
Experience with machinery, pipework, assemblies, or similar equipment
Competent in 3D CAD – ideally SolidWorks
Project management experience
Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
Interest in global projects, travel opportunities, and long-term development
