Job Description: Key Responsibilities As a Senior Azure Engineer you will have a strong background in cloud computing, specifically with Microsoft Azure, and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture, security, and best practices. The Senior Azure Engineer will work closely with other IT professionals and stakeholders to ensure that our cloud infrastructure is robust, scalable, and secure. You will have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a team. At this level, you will: Design and implement Azure cloud solutions. Manage and monitor cloud infrastructure. Ensure security and compliance of cloud environment. Automate cloud operations and workflows. Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues. Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders. Optimise cloud performance and cost. Develop and maintain cloud documentation. Provide technical support and guidance. Implement and support disaster recovery and backup solutions. Conduct/remediate regular security assessments. Ensure high availability and scalability of systems. Monitor and analyse system performance metrics. Collaborate with development teams for cloud integration. Provide training and support to team members. Key Outputs and Deliverables Proactively resolve technical problems, ensuring that security solutions continue to meet business requirements taking accountability for actions taken and decisions made. Work technical architects to translate architectural designs into operations. Work with our Security Engineers in the design, development and enablement of automated monitoring processes, supporting the implementation of (Security Information and Event Management) and network analysis tools, techniques and procedures to ensure stability, reliability and security Use Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Infrastructure as Code to automate the deployment of resource stacks and associated configuration for the DevOps community in Ofgem You will respond to incident reports, ensuring relevant prioritisation and detail to allow for effective investigation. You will identify the correct procedures and appropriate channels for resolution and monitor resolution activities and progress updates to users. You will investigate faults in systems, processes and services, and advise on the implementation of appropriate solutions and preventative measures. You will work collaboratively to ensure that a set of IT products, suppliers and vendors come together to deliver an IT service. Role Criteria Essential: Extensive experience as an Azure engineer using core Azure Services. (Lead) Microsoft Azure Operational and Monitoring tools management. Understanding of Microsoft Identity and Access Management products such as Entra ID, Entra ID Connect, Conditional Access, SSO protocols and Active Directory Domain Services. Microsoft Azure and its relevant build, deployment, automation, networking, and security technologies in cloud and hybrid environments. Deployment orchestration and configuration management tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Kubernetes).
