Principal Commissioning Engineer Opportunities
As aPrincipal Commissioning Engineeryou’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We have opportunities working on a wide range of Commissioning projects.
What you’ll do:
Day-to-day, you’ll be leading a team of both Senior/Commissioning Engineers in the commissioning and setting to work of high integrity mechanical submarine systems.
* Managing multiple complex commissioning packages across multiple projects with the ability to work to a consistently high standard
* Ensuring all test documentation is prepared and correctly authorised to meet project programmes
* Promoting a robust safety culture within the team, ensuring production and use of safety documentation and Safe Systems of Work requirements are understood and executed
* Managing and developing their section in order to undertake the testing, setting to work and commissioning of nuclear submarine systems and equipment to time, cost and quality
* Maintaining a close liaison with Ship Staff, Project, Production and Senior Commissioning Engineers so that any possible conflicts in testing and safety implications to the submarine can be readily identified and resolved
What you’ll need:
* Level 4 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering Discipline, or Level 3 Qualification with significant experience in Commissioning Operations
* Substantial knowledge and experience of commissioning, operations and maintaining mechanical systems is essential
* Sound and demonstrable knowledge of safe release of systems, Control of Work process and Safe Systems of Work
* Sound understanding of Nuclear Safety Cases and the relevance to commissioning activities
* Experience of leading, developing and managing a team of experienced Commissioning Engineers
* Strong planning, organisation, and communication skills
