This post is funded as full-time, however we would consider between this and a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Join the Intensive Support Team (IST) for adults with a learning disability and work with existing psychologists in a multi-disciplinary team
* Provide input to IST in the form of specialist assessments, psychological interventions, team formulation, consultation, training and supervision of other qualified staff
* Work with the MDT to support people to avoid unnecessary hospital admission and to remain living at home in the community, with an improved quality of life
* Support individuals through discharge transition out of hospital; collaborate with the individual, families and carers, local community learning disability teams and social care to ensure continuity of care
* Contribute to a cohesive approach through partnership and continuity of care
* Opportunities for continuing professional development, supervision, and involvement in research and teaching activities with local training courses and university links

Qualifications and requirements
Clinical/Counselling Psychologist with experience in learning disability; ability to work within an MDT; willingness to develop research and teaching links; commitment to continuing professional development; ability to provide supervision
