This role is a key appointment within our new Coventry warehouse operations team, contributing to the Group’s longer-term operational strategy. This role reports directly to the Operations manager for the Coventry site.
We are looking for an engineer with a level of experience working in a production or warehouse environment maintaining equipment such as conveyors, manual MHE equipment etc. On a day-to-day basis the role will focus on preventative maintenance of our conveyors, reactive maintenance to deal with any breakdowns and a degree of facilities work.
The hours of the role will be as follows.
* 4 days on and 4 days off, each shift being 12 hours.
Main Responsibilities
* Preventative and reactive maintenance of automated equipment and basic MHE equipment.
* Supporting the facilities function of the site.
* Lead by example to establish and ensure adherence to all Health & Safety legislation and company policies
* Ensure completeness and accuracy of all maintenance records
* Provide reports on the activities and performance of the automation / sortation conveyors.
* Proactively identify and implement continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to maximise the efficiency of our automation and conveyors
Person specification and prior experience
The successful individual will have a strong engineering record in a warehouse environment. This role is a key member of the Operations team that is responsible for ensuring that the facility and conveyor equipment is kept running safely and is well maintained.
The successful candidate will identify and execute all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance within the operation which runs 7 days per week.

Whilst being a great team player is important to deliver the requirements above, the individual will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work autonomously.
This position will appeal to a junior engineer looking to take their next step in their career and test themselves in a busy environment working on a variety of automated equipment.
Given the complexity of the business and the desire for high quality output the individual will also need to possess :
* A qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline Level 3 upwards.
* An understanding in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
* Practical engineering experience in warehouse or production environment
* Experience of managing and fault finding on automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems. (Desirable)
* Good communication skills (written & verbal) in English (Essential)
* Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations (Desirable)
* Good computer skills such as MS Office and automation monitoring tools (Desirable)
* Experience in PLC Fault Finding (Desirable)
The individual will need to demonstrate a flexible approach in terms of hours worked, especially in peak trading periods and also the ability to travel on an ad-hoc basis to other sites in the UK
