Job Title: Assistant Buyer Location: Darwen Job Type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, working a 4-day week over a 5-day operational week. Based in Darwen, Lancashire, we are proud to be part of the Northwest Aerospace Cluster, delivering high-quality engineering with agility, precision, and a customer-focused approach The Role: The Assistant Buyer will provide essential support to the Purchasing Team through effective supplier communication, accurate administrative work, and the maintenance of supplier data. The role includes creating basic purchase orders, following up on outstanding requirements, and ensuring that information is accurately reflected within the MRP system. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop purchasing skills and progress within the Buying function. Key Responsibilities: Create basic Purchase Orders generated from the MRP system, with support from Buyers. Maintain up-to-date supplier administration records and communicate any changes internally. Support Buyers in day-to-day tasks and workload management. Prepare reports and information as requested. Participate in internal and external meetings and supplier visits with guidance. Follow processes that support compliance with OHSE health, safety, and environmental requirements. Build awareness of aerospace specifications and manufacturing processes, with support. Ensure adherence to the company’s code of business conduct. Carry out any other duties reasonably required and appropriate to the level of the role.
