Job Summary
You will be part of the pre-award & policy sub team within Commercial Finance. You will be responsible for working with our Procurement Operations and Policy Colleagues to align the procurement pipeline to Commercial Finance activities and ensure compliance with EFS policy.
You will ensure that Commercial Finance supports the Commercial teams to develop new Commercial Agreements and provides risk profile support through the tiering activity. You will contribute to policy discussions and identify best practice.
Directorate Overview
As a directorate, FPP are responsible for the planning, reporting and financial wellbeing of CCS. This includes:
* budgets and financial reporting
* strategy and business planning
* supplier and project assurance
* performance reporting
* risk management
The Finance team develop and manage all financial reporting. We work closely with different departments to develop budgets, projections and business plans related to money and finances.
The Planning Performance and Risk team develops our business plan, tracks its implementation, measures business success and holds the business to account. The team is responsible for increasing the management capability of corporate risk through review and assurance.
Team Summary
This fantastic and rare opportunity sits in the Commercial Finance Team which supports CCS to manage financial risk for over 10,000 suppliers. Our team of 8 finance professionals really makes a difference working with procurement operations to deliver commercial agreements while ensuring compliance with financial stability policy and delivering value for our customers through performing financial risk assurance activities.
Job description
Key Accountabilities:
* Manage relationship with procurement operations to ensure procurement pipeline is visible and tiering activity is complete on time
* Support commercial teams during development of Commercial Agreements through ACM meetings
* Represent Commercial Finance in the Policy Implementation Network
* Represent CCS in the Commercial Finance Knowledge Network
* Act as a trusted partner to commercial teams to ensure compliance with Economic and Financial Standing Policy
* Identify and contribute to initiatives to develop the commercial Finance service offering
* Support wider Commercial Finance team to deliver reactive assurance to Commercial teams

Essential Criteria (to be assessed at application stage):
* Strong networking experience to ensure collaboration across teams
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Effective workload prioritisation, scheduling of tasks and
* Experience of working with multiple stakeholders and communicating technical and policy related topics
* Experience of supplier/market analysis
Desirable Criteria:
* Working knowledge of Government Playbooks and the Economic and Financial Stability policy

Successful candidates are expected to work from one of the office locations listed. Our current office attendance approach requires a minimum of 26 days per quarter (approx 2 days per week, which may be subject to change) in CCS office locations or off site meetings with suppliers, customers, partners, networking / industry events. Candidates who are successful at sift will be contacted as soon as possible following the closing date and advised of the interview process in more detail.
