Our Finance department are seeking a Group Accountant to join their hard working and dedicated team on a fully remote or hybrid working basis. This is a maternity cover role on a fixed term contract from June 2024 to June 2025.
Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Finance Controller you will take initial responsibility for completing the monthly management accounts across our support office and all nurseries. You will also be required to provide support and guidance to all nursery managers from a financial performance and control perspective.
You will also provide cover for any absences and give support to the Financial Controller as and when required.
Systems currently used are Sage 200 and Famly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. All initial processing and control of monthly accounting requirements, to includeAccruals, Prepayments, journal entries and correctionsFixed Asset additions and Depreciation postingsReview of entries and correction of errors as necessary
2. Review Bank reconciliations
3. Balance sheet reconciliations and review
4. Intercompany reconciliations and postings
5. Identify, investigate and resolve discrepancies in management accounts
6. Preparation and review of monthly management accounts
7. Assist in the annual budget, specifically around costs
8. Lead the year end audit process
9. Providing P&L and budget support for Nursery/Regional Managers
10. Setup new companies/new nominal code/new reporting categories/ new bank accounts on Sage 200
11. VAT returns
12. Agency accrual and analysis
13. Maintain Sage accounting periods
14. Manage the Finance Team
15. Business partner for Division K
16. Daily Cashflow
