Job Title: Consultant in Adult Psychiatry Grade: Consultant Location: Devizes, Wiltshire Working Hours: 40 hours per week Rate: Competitive — details to be discussed upon application We are seeking a highly experienced and committed Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join our NHS client in Devizes, Wiltshire. This full-time role involves providing expert psychiatric care to adults with complex mental health needs, with responsibilities under the Mental Health Act as a Section 12 Approved Clinician. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership and psychiatric care for adults with a range of mental health conditions. Act as an Approved Clinician and hold Section 12 approval, undertaking responsibilities related to detention, treatment, and discharge planning under the Mental Health Act. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, psychology, social care, and primary care professionals. Supervise and support junior medical staff and trainees. Participate in service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives. Engage with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic, person-centred care. Qualifications & Experience Full GMC registration with a licence to practise Inclusion on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT) MRCPsych or equivalent qualification Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility to obtain) Extensive experience in adult psychiatry and multidisciplinary team working Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills How to Apply If your expertise aligns with this role, apply today!
