They work with a broad portfolio of owner-managed businesses, corporate groups and international clients, delivering statutory and non-statutory audit, accounting and advisory services. Known for combining technical excellence with a people-first culture, they offer genuine progression, flexible working and exposure to complex, high-quality assignments.The RoleThe role of Audit Senior role has arisen due to continued growth within the firm’s Surrey audit team. The successful candidate will lead engagements from planning through to completion and sign-off, working across a varied and technically interesting client base.As an Audit Senior, you will take ownership of assignments, supervise and develop junior team members, and liaise directly with clients to ensure high-quality delivery in line with UK accounting and auditing standards. This position is ideal for someone confident in running audits from start to finish, who enjoys responsibility and wants to further develop their technical and leadership capability within a Top 10 environment.Key Responsibilities
* Lead statutory and non-statutory audit engagements from planning through to completion
* Supervise, review and support junior staff, providing timely feedback and training
* Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP
* Assess risk and internal controls, ensuring appropriate audit testing
* Deliver complex audits including long-term contract accounting, acquisitions, disposals and restructures
* Manage budgets, monitor job progress and communicate variances effectively
* Liaise confidently with clients and other internal departments
About the CandidateSuccessful applicants will ideally be recently qualified or working toward their formal accounting qualification either ACA or ACCA. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate
* Proven experience leading audits from planning through to sign-off within an accountancy practice
* Strong knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards
* Experience with group audits and more complex technical areas
* Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
* Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
* Demonstrable experience supervising and developing junior staff
* Able to commute easily to offices and client premises in Surrey and surrounding areas.
