We’re looking for an experienced and motivated professional to help shape the future of our Place and Growth Business Unit. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Senior Manager to provide leadership and expertise, ensuring high-quality, efficient services that deliver real value.
You’ll lead key functions within the unit, focusing on reducing demand, improving service delivery, and embedding best practice in line with legislation, government guidance, and council policy. As a team leader, you’ll manage workloads, maintain service standards, and support staff development.
Acting as a central point of contact, you’ll encourage collaboration, share knowledge, and drive continuous improvement across the unit. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on how services are delivered and help shape a growing, forward-thinking directorate.

As Business Unit Development Officer, you’ll work closely with the Senior Manager to lead and support a newly established team within the Place and Growth Business Unit. You’ll oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure service standards are met. Your role will involve managing processes, analysing data, and identifying opportunities for improvement to help deliver effective, customer-focused services.
We’re looking for someone with strong organisational and communication skills, confident in using Microsoft Office and experienced in supervising and motivating teams. You’ll be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to improving service delivery. Knowledge of local government processes and data analysis would be an advantage, but more importantly, you’ll bring initiative, adaptability, and a collaborative approach aligned with our THRIVE values.
