Teaching Assistant Grade 3 £24,404 - £25,183 pro rata Part Time - 3 Days a week (22.5 hrs) Term Time only 2 weeks Permanent Required from 1st September 2025 The Governors of this successful, friendly and caring Primary School wish to appoint a teaching assistant with knowledge and experience of Year 6. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced professionals with high expectations and they will also be expected to make a positive contribution to the progress of all our pupils. The role will involve supporting children in Year 6 in the first instance. You will need to demonstrate a caring and supportive approach, as well as having excellent verbal and written communication skills. Commitment to the whole life of the school and becoming part of a professional and caring team is essential. We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic teaching assistant who: • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Has innovative, creative and effective approaches • Is flexible and committed to working as a team • Is experienced in working with children with Special Educational Needs • Has knowledge and understanding of Year 6 expectations and curriculum Calculation of term time only plus two weeks’ pay Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following: • Number of ‘teaching’ weeks – 38 weeks; plus • Public (bank) holidays – 1.6 weeks (8 days); plus • Two additional weeks, inclusive of CPD – 2 weeks; plus • Individual leave entitlement - 5.4 weeks (27 days) or 6.4 weeks (32 days) Individual leave entitlement is calculated on the length of continuous service. Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 27 days annual leave. Employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 32 days annual leave.
