About The Role
EKFB, a joint venture of Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall, has been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. The Site Engineer will be based in Greatworth and will be responsible for on‑site leadership of junior engineers, assisting with construction operations in the Banbury area, and liaison with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials for M&E works.
The role includes coordinating the performance and development of M&E sub‑contractors, resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub‑Agent, and ensuring smooth delivery in a ‘just in time’ fashion. You will assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.
Responsibilities
* Lead junior engineers and oversee construction activities within the Banbury area.
* Liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, and materials for M&E works.
* Coordinate performance and development of M&E sub‑contractors and resolve technical issues on site.
* Support the delivery of projects in a just‑in‑time manner, ensuring compliance with standards, programme and budget.
* Assist with programme creation, progress reporting, resource planning and cost forecasting.
Qualifications
* HNC/Degree in Construction or M&E related field, or equivalent.
* Must hold a CSCS card: White, White‑Yellow, Red – Experienced, Black – Manager or Gold – Supervisor.
* Previous experience in structures (preferred) and with highways or structures (essential).
* Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of site engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
* Must hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
