Job Overview
This is a varied role that includes all aspects of laboratory analysis in the Leeds laboratory. The role requires passion for the natural environment and the ability to work as part of a small team to deliver technical and scientific activities that meet the Environment Agency's core responsibilities. Full training will be provided; prior technical laboratory knowledge is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
* Provide laboratory analysis of sediments, soils, biota and waters from across England and along the coastline.
* Contribute to the Environment Agency’s core responsibilities by delivering analysis to required standards and service levels.
* Work as part of a small team of about 50 analytical staff and 12 customer services colleagues to provide world‑class service to internal and external customers.
* Promote health, safety and well‑being matters and ensure safe working practices in line with EA guidance.
* Assist with bespoke forensic waste services as required.

* Comfortable with the use of IT including Microsoft Office (training will be provided on required software).
* Self‑motivated with a close attention to detail and ability to follow procedures to achieve results.

* Ability to prioritise workloads and adapt to changing demands.
