GLL is currently looking for a Trainer Assessor (Pool Trainer) based in our Croydon Partnership.
Join us as a Trainer Assessor and play a key role in the developing the skills of Lifeguards and Swimming Teachers. This is your chance to deliver monthly training sessions that all our lifeguards and Swimming Teachers have confidence when on pool duty and learn an invaluable life skill.
As an experienced Pool Trainer, you’ll thrive on supporting people to achieve their potential. Taking a lifeguard’s and swimming teacher’s nature and needs into account. Pool Trainers draw on their knowledge of practices, progression and teaching points and apply it in the most effective way. Naturally, there’ll be some administration involved, but rest assured that almost all of your time will be spent doing what you do best, teaching lifeguards and swimming teachers to become stronger, when on duty.
We’re looking for Pool Trainers who are approachable, with the friendly, patient nature needed to build people’s trust, motivate lifeguards and swimming teachers and encourage them to be a good lifeguard and swimming teacher. You’ll need to be RLSS NPLQ Generation 10 Trainer/Assessor plus deliver Pool Extraction Board and AED training. Knowledge of health, safety and other relevant legislation will be vital too, as will an understanding of Child Protection Policy.
What you will do:
Maintain a good and positive image of the Centre to staff and the public generally by providing a welcoming, helpful and professional poolside and classroom service.
Ensure the safety and control of the staff within monthly training sessions and to ensure that all relevant regulations applicable to the centre’s operation are enforced and complied with.
Assist with new lifeguard and swimming teacher staff starting as required by the General Manager.
Understand and follow the Safeguarding Policy and Procedure & Behaviour policy’
Record and complete relevant records in line with expected standards, ensuring that Lifeguards and Swimming Teachers are competent for pool duty.
Trian to the standard set within the product manual to ensure a consistent approach throughout all the centres.
