Role Overview:
The Counter Assistant is the face of our store, responsible for creating a positive and welcoming experience for every customer. This role involves a mix of customer service, product knowledge, and store operations, all with a focus on our mission to provide sustainable, high-quality products. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, a quick learner, and passionate about promoting products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in a professional and friendly manner.
- Answer customer questions about products, ingredients, sourcing, and our store's environmental mission.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints with patience and a solution-oriented approach.
- Assist the Butchery Manager in the preparation and production of selected meat products
- Assist with stock replenishment, ensuring shelves are fully stocked, clean, and products are well-presented.
- Conduct regular stock checks and communicate with management about low stock levels or customer requests for new products.
- Ensure proper rotation of products, particularly those with a short shelf life.
- Assist in the receiving and processing of new deliveries.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the store, including the counter, shelves, and public spaces.
- Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including those related to health, safety, and security.
- Support the team with various tasks to ensure the smooth daily operation of the store.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred, but not essential. Full training will be provided
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
- As this is a physical role the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry items up to 15-20 kg, and perform tasks that involve reaching, bending, and kneeling.
