The main purpose of the role is to work under the direction of the Catering Manager to perform a variety of tasks within the College’s catering facility.
The successful candidate will be required to:
* Assist as directed with all aspects of basic food preparation and retail activities
* Demonstrate excellent customer service skills at all times and greet all customers helpfully and courteously
* Act as a sales assistant in the Catering Facility and advise customers of any promotional offers in order to maximise sales
Customer Service
* Demonstrate excellent customer service skills at all times and greet all customers helpfully and courteously
* Report any customer comments to the Catering Manager
* Act as a sales assistant in the Catering Facility and advise customers of any promotional offers in order to maximise sales
* Keep records (e.g., counter checks and stock sheets as required)
* Assist with the preparation and service at special functions
Food Service
* Assist as directed with all aspects of basic food preparation and retail activities
* Clean and clear food areas
* Prepare counters and dining areas for service
* Maintain a high standard of hygiene and safety within the workplace
* Undertake all aspects of cleaning counters, equipment, and areas in accordance with the Cleaning Schedule
General
* Provide supervision to students using the facility’s communal spaces, ensuring they behave appropriately and keep the area tidy
* Provide cover for other Catering Assistant duties as required
* Comply with any reasonable requests made by the Catering Manager
* Be flexible and responsive, taking on additional responsibilities and duties commensurate with the post, as directed by the Principal / CEO
