Assistant Buyer
CCG, one of Scotland’s largest privately-owned construction and manufacturing companies, and we have an exciting opportunity available for a motivated individual to join our Buying Department.
SALARY: DOE
HOURS: Full time, Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm (Core flexible housrs available)
LOCATION: 1 Cambuslang Road, Cambuslang Investment Park, Glasgow, G32 8NB
STATUS: Permanent
THE ROLE
1. Assist in sourcing construction materials & plant hire
2. Ability to maintain positive relationships with suppliers and team members
3. Ability to analyse supplier quotes against specification while ensuring purchases stay within project budgets
4. Ability to analyse data and carry out reports
5. Liaise with contracts managers, site teams and the commercial department
6. Basic understanding of project management and construction timelines
7. Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, supplier performance and quality of products
8. Strong knowledge of buying principles
REQUIREMENTS
9. Good communication and negotiation skills
10. Attention to detail and organisational skills
11. Ability to problem solve
12. Computer-literate, particularly in Microsoft Excel
