Job Summary
Salford Medical Centre is a GP practice with over 15,000 patients. We are one of the fastest growing practices in Salford with an average of 200‑300 registrations per month. We have a branch practice – The Quays Practice – located at Ordsall Health Centre (M5 3PH). We are recruiting two part‑time Receptionist / Administrator positions (25 hours per week, 5 days). Training is provided in‑house.
Key Responsibilities
* Answering and making calls to patients, relatives, and health care workers.
* Managing appointments and new patient registrations.
* Processing prescriptions, referrals and other administrative tasks.
* Greeting and assisting patients and visitors.
* Actioning tasks from clinicians and managing patient recall.
* Maintaining accurate patient records in EMIS and other systems.
* Handling incoming and outgoing mail and supporting clinical staff.
* Managing repeat prescriptions and processing DNA letters.
Requirements
* Ability to work between 8:00 am and 6:30 pm.
* Availability to work at both sites.
* Flexibility to cover sickness or annual leave on short notice.
* GCSE level or equivalent; GCSE Maths and English (C or above) desirable.
* Experience in a GP practice or similar administrative setting preferred but not essential.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Good IT literacy, experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
* Previous use of EMIS system desirable.
* Disclosure Barring Service check required.
