Job Summary
ideal We are seeking a highly motivated Product Development Engineer to join our team working within the livestock handling sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing manufacturable products to a highly detailed standard. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about engineering.
Duties
* To be the sole engineer within the business responsible for design, QC and costings.
* Use SolidWorks to create production ready designs with detailed, consistent drawings.
* Use complex spreadsheets to accurately cost components and assemblies.
* Manage product and part libraries to ensure accuracy and efficiency of common component use.
* Design, prototype, and test components and products ready for mass manufacture.
* Collaborate with suppliers to ensure production requirements are met.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in product development or related engineering fields.
* Strong mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar programmes.
* Knowledge of mechanical components.
* Experience producing accurate part drawings, BOMs, managing part libraries.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Interest in livestock production/agriculture a benefit.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £17.00-£22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
