Working with us means being part of a team that is harnessing technology and creativity to disrupt a traditional industry.We are not your average workplace.Ocean Infinity is seeking a Payload Superintendent to support our Ocean Drill program.As a key member of the Geotechnical Operations team, you will play a vital role in supporting, developing, and optimising remote drilling operations across our Ocean Drill fleet. Working closely with software development, asset management, and offshore operational teams, you will help ensure safe, reliable, and high performance delivery of our autonomous and remotely operated systems. This position is critical in advancing new technologies, improving operational readiness, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and data quality. **What you will do:****Geotechnical Operations & Technical Support*** Support project execution alongside our dedicated Ocean Drill offshore teams.* Develop planned and preventative maintenance programmes to maximise reliability and operational uptime.* Collaborate with in‐house Software teams to design predictive maintenance solutions and identify critical failure points.* Identify training and development opportunities to support upskilling of offshore personnel.* Assist Software Development teams in testing and operating systems from the Remote Operating Centre.* Provide first‐line technical support for equipment in field, working with the Product Manager and Operational Management to resolve breakdowns and performance issues.* Deliver clear operational feedback to the Product Owner and contribute to procedure development that enhances asset performance and reliability.* Monitor and evaluate system performance to ensure the highest quality geotechnical data and samples.* Maintain accurate technical records, operational logs, and engineering documentation.**Collaboration & Operational Readiness*** Work closely with Asset Management and Service Delivery teams to meet remote operational readiness targets.* Maintain strong communication and effective working relationships across all internal teams and external stakeholders.* Participate in project briefings, system familiarisation activities, and operational planning sessions.**Safety, Compliance & Quality*** Work safely at all times, prioritising the wellbeing of yourself and your colleagues.* Comply with all relevant sections of the company’s HSE policies and actively participate in safety briefings and Toolbox Talks.* Maintain situational awareness and recognise how operational changes may influence safety or system performance.* Stay up‐to‐date with industry standards and best practices relating to geotechnical asset performance and operational safety.**Innovation & Continuous Improvement*** Promote and support the adoption of new technologies, with a focus on autonomous systems, robotics, and remote operations.* Contribute ideas, insights, and constructive feedback that drive innovation and continual improvement across geotechnical operations.**Who You Are**You are a proactive and technically skilled professional with strong operational experience in geotechnical drilling, ideally including exposure to remote drilling systems. With a solid foundation in mechanical, electrical, or software disciplines, you bring hands‐on expertise, strong leadership capability, and a collaborative, solutions‐focused mindset. You thrive in dynamic environments, demonstrating adaptability, initiative, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.**Essential Qualifications & Attributes*** Experience working with geotechnical equipment, systems, or operations.* Background in mechanical and/or electrical systems within a technical or operational environment.* Dynamic, self‐motivated, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.* Valid passport.* Fluent in written and spoken English.* Proficiency with standard office and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Office, Google Workspace, Teams).* Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine interest in supporting colleagues and contributing to team success.* High level of engagement, ownership, and accountability.* Excellent time‐management skills and ability to prioritise effectively in fast‐paced settings.* Strong critical thinking and problem‐solving capabilities.* Open‐minded, innovative, and receptive to new technologies and ways of working.* Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.* Commitment to safety, sustainability, and protecting people and the environment.**Desirable:*** Experience in offshore operations.* Leadership and Management* Knowledge of hydraulic systems.* First Aid certification.**Salary**: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades.
